Research Triangle Region companies in full force at BIO Forum
Research Triangle Region companies were present in full force at the Biotechnology Industry Organization’s annual BioInvestor Forum in San Francisco October 9-10. In fact several of those local companies presented their commercialization efforts to venture funders and corporate development alliance leaders.
Funders from all across the globe including Australia, Austria, The Netherlands, Japan, China and other nations heard from presenting companies CoLucid Pharmaceuticals, Metabolon, Tranzyme Pharma, and ContraFect Corporation. All four of these companies are located within the thirteen county region that comprises over 80% of the biotechnology companies in the state according to the North Carolina Biotechnology Center.
In addition, industry leader GSK’s Vice President for Investment Management Brian McVeigh was an opening plenary session speaker to an audience of 500 industry stakeholders.
