RDU International Airport
Located five miles east of Research Triangle Park, the Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) provides efficient and cost-effective travel options for the Research Triangle Region. RDU has two primary runways (10,000 ft. x 150 ft. & 7,500 ft. x 150 ft.) and a secondary, crosswind runway (3,550 ft. x 100 ft.). RDU is served by seventeen airline carriers with a total of nearly 225 flights daily. Non-stop weekday flights to international cities include London, Toronto, Nassau and Freeport, Bahamas destinations. RDU has been consistently in the top five among the nation's largest airports for on-time arrivals and on-time departures. An U.S. Customs office, 9 all-cargo carriers and numerous freight forwarders are housed at RDU.

FBOs coordinate aircraft needs for the General Aviation area at RDU. The Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority began a multi-phase redevelopment of the General Aviation area in 1998.
