North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics Established in Durham in 1980, the NC School of Science and Mathematics is the first state-wide, public, residential high school for juniors and seniors with special interest and talent in the sciences and mathematics. Since opening, one third of NCSSM students have been named National Merit Scholarship Semi-finalists, which is the highest percentage of any high school in the United States. Classes for kindergarten through 12th grade are held daily throughout the school year, beginning at 1:00 p.m., allowing students to attend Wake County Public Schools in the morning. Lebanese Triangle Lebanese Association Lebanese Education Center (919) 851-5187 Contact: Ms. Badia Ishak The TLA was founded in 1986 as a social organization to provide an exchange of information and understanding between the Lebanese and American cultures through social, cultural and humanitarian endeavors. Instruction in the Arabic language began in 1995. The mission of the Triangle Lebanese Association (TLA) Arabic class is to teach the Arabic language, in its written form and as spoken in the Lebanese dialect, so that those who wish to learn may more fully appreciate the Lebanese culture and heritage, and may communicate in the language of their ancestors, family or friends. Classes are held once a week on Saturday, 10 a.m. until 12 noon. The location is at the All Saints Orthodox Chruch, 520 Buck Jones Road in Raleigh. |
