Research Triangle Cleantech Cluster Members Take Center Stage at N.C. Cleantech Summit

Research Triangle Region, N.C. – More than a dozen Research Triangle Cleantech Cluster (RTCC) executives will be featured speakers at the second annual 2015 NC Clean Tech Summit Feb. 19-20 at The Friday Center in Chapel Hill.

Research Triangle Cleantech ClusterThe RTCC is a major sponsor and advisor of the event, which will focus on three themes: The Military and Renewable Energy, Smart Cities and Sustainable Communities, and The Future of Electricity in the Southeastern United States.

The summit will convene professionals in business, policy and academia from across the state for two days of problem-solving and planning to foster leadership and growth in the state’s cleantech industry. The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Institute for the Environment and Kenan-Flagler’s Center for Sustainable Enterprise host the summit.

RTCC Managing Director Lee Anne Nance will moderate a key panel focused on creating a stronger innovation ecosystem.

RTCC Program Assistant Emmit Owens will moderate a panel for UNC students focused on careers in cleantech and renewable energy. Panelists include RTCC members Michael Waters, Duke Energy, and Charlie Nobles, Sensus USA Inc., as well as executives from six other organizations.

The Research Triangle Regional Partnership (RTRP), which created and manages the RTCC, will sponsor an executive breakfast for companies and UNC administrators and researchers. RTRP president and CEO Charles A. Hayes will speak.
