Research Triangle Region's Cleantech Cluster and Experts Featured at Smart Cities Conference
Research Triangle Region, N.C. (October 28, 2014) -- The Research Triangle Region’s success in creating a vibrant cleantech cluster will be featured prominently at Energy Central’s Smart Cities conference, “Shaping a Smart Energy Future,” Nov. 3-4 in San Diego, Calif.
Research Triangle Cleantech Cluster (RTCC) Managing Director Lee Anne Nance will moderate a panel of cluster member companies discussing how public sector, private sector and utility industry partners in the region collaborate to deploy smart city solutions and how that creates competitive advantage for the region.
Panelists for “Successes in Smart City Planning – Research Triangle Cleantech Cluster” will be: Troy Carbaugh, account manager for OSIsoft; Bradley Rash, manager of business customer behavioral programs for Duke Energy; and James Stawinczy, vice president and head of sustainability and environment Americas for Lend Lease.
Meanwhile, cluster advisory council member Bobbi Harris, president of Smart Water Smart City, will lead a panel discussion on “The Water Energy/Nexus.” The session will examine how electric and water utilities have shared advanced technologies and integrated paths to improve electric and water infrastructure. RTCC member Tim Baldwin, senior vice president for McKim & Creed, will be among the panelists.
Energy Central’s Smart Cities conference convenes utility company executives, advanced solution providers and leading smart energy experts discussing the evolving demands of 21st-century communities and the ways companies and communities can best prepare for the future. Nance and RTCC program manager Christa Wagner Vinson will also meet with representatives of cleantech companies interested in learning about opportunities for participating in the cluster and the region's cleantech economy.
