Wake County Economic Development’s Talent Attraction Initiative Under Way

Wake County Economic Development, the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce and Competitive Edge4 have identified talent attraction and talent retention as two major initiatives in their five-year strategic economic development plan for promoting Wake County and the Research Triangle Region.

The three groups have been working with a consulting firm since January to develop a talent blueprint to aggressively promote the region as a smart place to live, work and learn.

The initiative aims to build awareness of the advantages and opportunities the region offers and provide a mechanism for people to connect with those opportunities.

Over the next year, the group plans to develop a Web portal to support its talent objectives, leveraging social media tools and building a network of ambassadors.
