International cleantech experts convene in the Research Triangle Region

U.S. Senator Kay Hagan greets members of the International Cleantech Network during their October visit to the region. RTRP hosted the network of global cluster leaders for a four-day visit. Members toured regional research centers and companies and heard about the region's triple helix model of promoting business growth and competitiveness, which has made it one of the most economically competitive regions in the world.

Research Triangle Region investments top $1.5 billion, 6,600 jobs in 2010

Research Triangle Region companies announced $1.5 billion in capital investments and more than 6,600 jobs during 2010. Another $243 million in investments and 1,400 jobs were announced during the first quarter of 2011. "Our diverse, innovation-based economy makes this region one of the most resilient in the world," RTRP President and CEO Charles A. Hayes told regional business and community leaders at the 2011 State of the Research Triangle Region, hosted by RTRP with naming sponsor IBM.
