Regional Task Force Appoints 21 CD to Create Digital
Resource that Unites Research Triangle Businesses
Compact disk to link 13 counties; aid Research Triangle business development

DURHAM, N.C. -- In an effort to show alignment and cooperation among this region's business support organizations, the Research Triangle Regional Partnership (RTRP), working in cooperation with the North Carolina Department of Commerce, will link 13 counties, all area development organizations, chambers of commerce and local business assistance organizations on a CD-ROM Business Resource Guide. 21 CD, Inc., is currently creating this multimedia CD, which will be used by area businesses as a comprehensive resource tool. It also is earmarked for use as an economic development tool aimed at businesses considering a move to the Research Triangle region.

"The RTRP Business Resource Guide will demonstrate the scope of business and industry in this region," said Peter Nyberg, president of 21 CD, Inc. "We are honored that RTRP has entrusted 21 CD to create this landmark guide to unite area business development.

"By using multimedia digital CDs for this campaign, RTRP shows an appreciation for the impact of the CD format and our ability to track its usage and then compare to one-dimensional printed materials. We expect a tremendous response, as our direct marketing campaigns typically result in better than 15 percent usage," said Nyberg.

In its digital format, the RTRP Business Resource Guide will be the most comprehensive listing of businesses and corporate information available on the 13-county Research Triangle region, including data from area economic development organizations such as: N.C. Department of Commerce, N.C. Community College System, N.C. Rural Economic Development Center, and the Small Business & Technology Development Center, among others.

Each disk will include comprehensive information on the 13-county Research Triangle region, yet will feature a custom faceplate and introductory message based on the represented county, chamber of commerce, or economic development organization. When completed in the spring of 2005, RTRP will begin distributing the digital guides to area corporate leaders as well as company executives considering a move to the Research Triangle region.
