Regional leadership tapped for economic development board

Research Triangle Region, N.C. - James Roberson has been elected to a two-year term as chairman of the board of directors of the Research Triangle Regional Partnership (RTRP).

Roberson is consultant to and former president and CEO of Research Triangle Foundation, which manages Research Triangle Park. He leads a board of regional business and community leaders from the 13-county Research Triangle Region that advises and oversees RTRP's economic development mission and programs. His two-year term began July 1.

"Jim's vast knowledge and experience in attracting and nurturing innovative, successful businesses will serve this region well as we embark on an ambitious strategy to attract jobs and opportunity to our 13 counties," said RTRP President and CEO Charles A. Hayes. RTRP in March launched a five-year, $5 million business-led initiative, called "Staying on Top: Winning the Job Wars of the Future," to create 100,000 jobs in the region and boost employment in all 13 counties.
