New radio show focuses on regional growth and competitiveness

Research Triangle Region, N.C. - Research Triangle Regional Partnership (RTRP) hits the airwaves in November with a new radio show that examines the critical issues of economic growth and global competitiveness for the 13-county Research Triangle Region.

"Staying on Top: Winning the Job Wars of the Future" will air Wednesdays beginning Nov. 3 at 7:24 a.m. on State Government Radio, WDNZ 570 AM.

"We are in a fight for our economic future," RTRP President and CEO Charles A. Hayes says. "It is imperative that everyone involved in our region's success understand the challenges and opportunities we face as we seek to create an environment conducive to increasing jobs and opportunity for the citizens of our region. Through this radio show, we hope to expand the dialogue and support the collaborative efforts of business, government, education and civic leaders to fight this battle and win."

Hayes and Host Dean Linke will discuss and interview key players in the region's economic development strategy, also called "Staying on Top: Winning the Jobs Wars of the Future." It is a $5 million, five-year effort to create 100,000 jobs in the region and boost employment in each of the region's 13 counties, both urban and rural. RTRP is coordinating the regional effort that involves more than 40 "institutional partners" from business, government, academia and the nonprofit sector.

RTRP is a public/private partnership that promotes economic development for the 13-county region of North Carolina comprising Chatham, Durham, Franklin, Granville, Harnett, Johnston, Lee, Moore, Orange, Person, Vance, Wake and Warren counties.
