Recent Investments
Contract manufacturer Flextronics announces a new $7.8 million facility in Franklin County that will create 108 new jobs. The project is part of the $423 million in investment and 1,726 new jobs announced in the region during the second quarter of 2004.

Regional Accolades
Research Triangle Region electric utility Progress Energy is named one of the top utilities for economic development for the third year in a row by Site Selection magazine, one of many recent accolades for the Research Triangle Region.

Recruiting Schedule

Economic developers travel to Atlanta, Ga., in October, part of a schedule of trips designed to recruit investment to the region.

Regional Events

The Council for Entrepreneurial Development's InfoTech 2004 will be held Oct. 8 at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel & Convention Center in Durham. It is one of the October events planned for regional businesspeople and entrepreneurs.
