Chatham County, where opportunity is knocking.

Opportunity abounds in Chatham County. Still largely rural, the county blends access to the best of the Research Triangle with relatively low land prices and ample space for additional development.

Chatham County boasts many amenities, including excellent highway and rail access, diverse housing choices, abundant recreational options, and small towns and crossroad communities, each with its own unique identity.

Large manufacturing and technology companies keep the area economically dynamic. Major employers include medium- and high-density fiberboard producer Uniboard USA, biopharmaceutical company Biolex Therapeutics, and engineered panel and vault manufacturer The International Group. Chatham County is also home to Performance Bicycles, the nation's leading bike supplier, and Piedmont Biofuels, a leading renewable and alternative energy company.

Chatham Hospital - now part of UNC Health Care - continues to develop; its new facilities in Siler City's Central Carolina Business Campus provide state-of-the-art patient care and emergency treatment to the community.

Chatham County is in close proximity of three major tier one research universities that include the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Duke University and North Carolina State University. Central Carolina Community College recently completed new campus buildings in Chatham County - one in Siler City and another in Pittsboro - and offers curriculum programs, continuing education classes, and courses in agriculture, technology and the arts. Chatham County Schools, the public school system, continues to renovate schools and strive for academic excellence.

This is the kind of place you could walk around, thumbs and forefingers together, framing all that could be here. Or you could recognize and take advantage of the resources in front of you.
