Chatham County, naturally innovative.

Opportunity abounds in Chatham County. Still largely rural, the county blends access to the best of the Research Triangle with relatively low land prices and ample space for additional development.

Chatham County boasts many amenities, including excellent highway and rail access, diverse housing choices, abundant recreational options, and small towns and crossroad communities, each with its own unique identity.

Several major projects are changing the landscape of Chatham County. Chatham Park, a 7,100-acre mixed-use development in Pittsboro, broke ground on its first buildings in December 2014. The 1,818-acre Chatham-Siler City Advanced Manufacturing Site in Siler City was certified by the state in June 2014. In Moncure, property owners are assembling a 2,000+ acre super park for an industrial user.

Large manufacturing and technology companies keep the area economically dynamic. Major employers include medium- and high-density fiberboard producer Arauco, engineered panel and vault manufacturer The International Group, and pit-cooked barbecue producer and distributor Brookwood Farms. Chatham County is also home to Performance Bicycles, the nation's leading bike supplier, and Strata Solar, one of the leading solar farm developers in the United States.

Chatham County is in close proximity of three major tier one research universities that include the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Duke University and North Carolina State University. Central Carolina Community College recently completed new campus buildings in Chatham County - one in Siler City and another in Pittsboro - and offers curriculum programs, continuing education classes, and courses in agriculture, technology and the arts. Chatham County Schools, the public school system, continues to renovate schools and strive for academic excellence.

This is the kind of place you could walk around, thumbs and forefingers together, framing all that could be here. Or you could recognize and take advantage of the resources in front of you.
