“North Carolina is one of the nation’s leaders in manufacturing,” said Secretary of Commerce Anthony M. Copeland. “With the expansion of Pamlico Air to Wilson County, our skilled workforce will continue to build our reputation as a manufacturing leader and a home to innovation.”
The North Carolina Department of Commerce and the Economic Development Partnership of N.C. (EDPNC) were instrumental in supporting the company’s decision to expand in Wilson County.
Salaries for the new jobs will vary by position but the average annual wage will be $32,557. The average annual wage in Wilson County is $44,012.
A performance-based grant of $250,000 from the One North Carolina Fund will help facilitate Pamlico Air’s new operation in Wilson County. The One NC Fund provides financial assistance to local governments to help attract economic investment and to create jobs. Companies receive no money upfront and must meet job creation and capital investment targets to qualify for payment. All One NC grants require a matching grant from local governments and any award is contingent upon that condition being met.
“With a team that brings over a century of industry experience, Pamlico Air will be a qualified employer to the skilled workers of Wilson,” said N.C. Senator Milton F. Fitch, Jr. “Bringing 305 jobs and $10 million investment, this will be a great opportunity for the county.”
In addition to North Carolina Department of Commerce and the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina, other key partners in the project include the North Carolina General Assembly, North Carolina Community College System, Wilson County and Wilson County’s Economic Development Office.
