Infosys, an Indian multinational corporation that provides business consulting, information technology and outsourcing services, created a North Carolina Technology and Innovation Hub in Wake County that will create 2,000 new jobs by 2021.
Ravi Kumar, president and deputy chief operating officer of Infosys, said, “Raleigh is one of the most diverse innovation hubs in the country.”
“Attracting and retaining a skilled and motivated workforce is crucial to Infosys, and the new Tech Hub—along with the robust training program we are developing with the North Carolina Community College System and proximity to tier-one research universities—will expand Infosys’ existing North Carolina network to better serve clients in the IT, life sciences, clean technology and advanced manufacturing sectors,” said Kumar.
Infosys recently tapped former IBM Digital Commerce leader Deverre Lierman to lead its Triangle operation. The new hub is set to open in 2018.
