RALEIGH – Persistence AI, a startup in Raleigh focusing on artificial intelligence, says it will hire hundreds of people to support the launch of a new product which it is accelerating for deployment to help companies meet a variety of needs stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The product is called Agent, and “hundreds of people” are needed to assist clients – three already using it with another 11 soon to sign on, the company says.

New jobs will be “work from home,” the firm says.

“With the launch of Agent, people will receive paid training while working remotely with flexible hours,” a company spokesperson adds.

Flexjobs, a jobs website, reports the following about Persistence AI:

“Employment with Persistence AI has been known to include flexible openings in fields like customer service, telemarketing, and sales. In the past, the company has hired for entry-level roles and seeks self-aware, curious, and goal-focused professionals to join its team. Qualified individuals should also be tech-savvy and proficient in using computers and various programs, have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and take ownership of the work they do.”

Agent offers virtual call centers, offers tools for hiring and screening of workers, and qualifying sales leads. It launched an “AI-Powered Sales Assistants” program in May of 2019.

“We’ve had a high demand from our customers to provide these services to help augment their existing contact centers and sales teams,” Presistence CEO Ed Holloway says. “With COVID-19, we realized now is the time. We want to help provide work for anyone displaced due to COVID-19. We’re also hearing from a lot of applicants who have realized over the past several months that working from home is a real option for them.”

Agent had been scheduled to launch in late 2021, the company says.

“People hired on to Agent will supplement the clients’ sales teams by performing screening tasks, and instead of chasing and qualifying leads, clients can prioritize closing deals,” the startup adds.

“Employees with any background can learn sales and grow while working at home. In addition to its regular recruiting, Persistence AI is collaborating with workforce nonprofits and service organizations to hire.”

Persistence AI launched in 2015 as a software-as-a-service provider. Its focus is helping clients close sales leads through its cloud-based AI solutions. According to its LinkedIn site the firm has between 11 and 50 employees with six listed at LinkedIn.

“With Persistence AI you’ll be able to increase your lead-to-call rates, reduce overall costs, and let your sales reps focus on closing sales – not dials or qualifying leads,” he company says at its website.

“Simply put, we’ll help you raise you ROI across all of your lead channels. We’re so confident of the ROI increase you’ll see with Persistence AI we only work on a performance-based pricing structure – if we’re not helping you increase sales, we don’t get paid.”
