CARY – Epic Games, fresh off a 20-million participant in its latest Fortnite online gaming event, is coming closer to landing a new, massive round of investment with some new names involved.
So report Bloomberg News.
Bloomberg had reported previously about the new fund raise at the privately held gaming and technology company based in Cary.
If Epic raises the money its valuation will rise to some $17 billion, Bloomberg estimates
New information indicates that T. Rowe Price Group and Baillie Gifford will be investors.
High-flying Silicon Valley investor KKR & Co., which participated in Epic’s previous big round ($1.25 billion in 2018, a record raised by a North Carolina firm), also is expected to participate, Bloomberg said.
Epic declined comment.
